About Powder Springs, GA

Powder Springs is a city on the border of two counties:  Cobb and Paulding within the Atlanta metropolitan area.  There are over 14,500 residents that call Powder Springs home!

Located in the southwestern corner of Cobb County, Powder Springs has become popular due to its easy access to main thoroughfares and small town.  Powder Springs is also rich in history as past Cherokee land, an early stop for settlers searching out gold and Civil War battles.  The name “Powder Springs” was derived from the seven springs found within the city limits.  Twenty six minerals were found in the water turning it as black as gunpowder.  This and more can be explored at the Seven Springs Museum located at the edge of Powder Springs Park in Downtown.

Powder Springs is proud of their multiple trail systems throughout the city to include:  Wildhorse Trail, Lucille Creek Trail and the famous Silver Comet Trail which consists of a 59 mile multi-use trail running from Smyrna to the Alabama border.  The city of Powder Springs has over 243 acres of public use recreational facilities, land and the fantastic Ford Center Campus which consists of a community center, library, reception hall and Senior Center.
