Marietta is located in Atlanta's metropolitan area and is the largest suburb in the area with 61,261 residents.  The city is in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and is the seat of Cobb County.

Recreation

Home to 18 parks, two sports complexes and two community centers, Marietta offers a variety of recreational amenities. Many of theses sites host the city's annual events such as the Daddy Daughter Dance, Concert Series, Halloween Happenings and summer day camps. Activities are planned for all ages and abilities, with a goal of keeping Marietta active and beautiful.  Culture is ever-present throughout the city and is easily engaged at Marietta's many museums.  The Marietta Museum of History comprehensively displays the city's history with photos, artifacts and documentaries.  The Marietta Gone With the Wind Museum: Scarlett on the Square houses a private collection of memorabilia about the book and movie.
